      FORT WORTH - Robert Schutts, 76, an investor, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

      Change of funeral time and visitation due to weather: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dana C. Jones Jr. will officiate. Burial: private family committal in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

      Memorials: First Presbyterian Church for the Women's and Children's Building at the Presbyterian Night Shelter.

      Robert Schutts was born June 16, 1922, in Fort Worth. He was a graduate of Paschal High School. He was an honored alumni of Texas Wesleyan University, where he attended on a golf scholarship. He was presently a trustee at TWU. He served in World War II, 15 Army Air Corps as a bombardier navigator serving 15 months in Italy. He received an Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was an active director of Tandycrafts, Inc., a former chairman of the board of Stafford-Lowdon Printing Co., one of the founding executives of Royer and Schutts, president of Schutts Land and Cattle Co., a 3,500-acre ranch in Parker County. He was a member and former elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church, past director of the Easter Seal Society, member of Julian Feild Lodge no. 908 AF & AM, Moslah Temple Shrine Patrol and director of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show.

      He was also an avid golfer who won numerous tournaments including the Fort Worth City Championship and was a member and past president of Rivercrest Country Club. He was also a member of Shady Oaks Country Club, The Fort Worth Club, the Harlingen Country Club and Alto Lakes Country Club. He was a director of the Life Begins at 40 Golf Tournament. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

      Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Kathryn Lowdon Schutts; sons, Philip Schutts and his wife, Heidi, of Aledo, and Alan Schutts and his wife, Pat, of Weatherford; daughter, Suzy Schutts Thompson and her husband, Gary, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Will Schutts, Emily Schutts Jones, Logan Schutts, Lesley Schutts, Katy Thompson and Molly Thompson; brothers, J. Lewis Schutts of Soper, Okla. and Jack A. Schutts of Fort Worth; sister, Betty Rhotenberry of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
