Frankfort –MAJ (R) Clyde Wiseman Jr., 67 years, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Services for Clyde will be 12:00 noon Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Wallace Kent will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A native of Estill County, he was born November 18, 1943 to Clyde Wiseman Sr. and Edith Eloise Hall Wiseman. Clyde began his military career as an enlisted man in April 1966 and left active duty in September 1973. He joined the National Guard and became a full time technician in September 1973 and was promoted to Major in April 1982. Clyde retired as a Major from the Kentucky Army Nation Guard in April 2004 with 38 years and 5 months military service as the Assistant to the Chief of Staff for the Kentucky Army National Guard. He was a member of VFW Post 4075, American Legion Post 7, Elks Lodge 530, Frankfort Expo Committee and Frankfort Boat Club.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Mowry Wiseman; daughters, Dona Chermie Maxwell and her husband, Scott, Alanna Austin Wiseman and two grandchildren, Justin Allen Maxwell and Louie Antonio Almada.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Kentucky Army National Guard. Honorary bearers will be COL (R) Bill Whitney, COL (R) Mike Jones, COL (R) Bill Clark, COL (R) Mike Sebastian, COL (R) Jack Carpenter, LT COL (R) Virgil Elliott, CW5 (R) Kenny Masters, MSGT (R) Bill Moore, MSGT (R) Harry Mowry, BG (R) Jack Doyle, Donnie Hammonds, Rob Duff, Stan Salchli, Friends – VFW, Elks Lodge, River Buddies and all of Clyde’s fellow golfers.
